The Novem
Step into a world where mythological deities once ruled and used their powers to alter the course of human evolution. The ancient gods used their advanced technological knowledge and abilities to set mankind on a higher path, advancing their development by thousands of years. After centuries of living amongst men, the gods left, satisfied with the groundwork they had established for mankind.
Centuries passed and mankind had reached the zenith of technological mastery. One would assume that a utopic society would have resulted from this boon of technological advancement, but for most of humanity, this could not be less true. Those in power, the Hierophants, have restricted access to advanced technologies to only those they deem worthy. This has created a dystopic society bathed in the promising light of advanced technology, but shadowed in the darkness of oppression.
The gods’ parting command was that all technology be shared freely amongst the people. With no sign of the gods for centuries, this holy commandment has been forgotten.
A group of nine heroes rise to oppose the tyrannical rule that has tormented mankind for far too long. By stealing advanced technology from the Hierophants, their despotic rulers, this group of rebels have developed suits that allow them to impersonate the technological abilities of the gods. Under the guise of the old gods, our heroes set out to reestablish technological equality. Using the Hierophants’ fear of the gods return and their inevitable judgement for their misuse of power, they seek to balance the scales.
Armed and ready for war, they are nine standing against the inexorable forces of the Hierophants. They are The Novem!
The Novem
The group of benevolent god’s that altered the course of mankind’s technological evolution by gifting them with the knowledge of advanced technologies.
Tanarus
This is Tanarus, the leader of the Novem. It was his dream that led the Novem to journey to earth and provide humanity with the gift of modern technology.
His powers stem from the source of modern technology, electricity and other forms of energy. He is able to absorb, project, and manipulate many sources of energy in any way that suits his needs. His powers are so great, they have been rumored to allow him to supply enough energy to power entire continents, possibly even entire planets.
He is a revered and respected leader who has earned the unwavering loyalty of his followers. By combining unrivaled battle strategies and ruthless combat techniques with his compassion for others and desire to see all life prosper, he has earned his spot as the unquestioned ruler of the Novem.
Kalani
Kalani, the goddess of flight, possesses anti-gravity and flight related abilities. She is a master of aerial combat using her elite mobility to out maneuver her enemies. Her anti-gravity abilities also allow her to grant others limited flight abilities. It also allows her immense strength by using her anti-gravity tech to lower the weight of most objects to nearly nothing.
Bellicose
Bellicose, the god of war, is a master of close-range combat, making use of variable-state plasma shielding technology, he is able to project plasma weapons and shields instantly during combat. By applying higher amounts of energy to the projected objects, Bellicose is able to alter the projections density making them harder than any naturally occurring substance.Bellicose is known for his infatuation with melee weapons such as, swords and axes, these armaments allow him to get up close and personal with his enemies. Able to adapt on the fly by projecting whatever weapon is most useful in an instant, Bellicose generally overwhelms his opponents with sheer force, battle tactics, and weapons mastery.
Molecula
Molecula, the scientist supreme of the god’s, makes us of advance nanotechnology, this goddess commands an army of microscopic robots that she uses, in tandem with her scientific knowledge, to alter the physical composition of matter at a molecular level. She has been know to use her abilities for combat, medicine, and even to liquefy the intestines of a poor soul who dared to cross her path on the wrong day.
The combination of her tech and scientific expertise make the use of her abilities limited to only her imagination. This combined with her expertise in hand-to-hand combat make her a force to be reckoned with.
Elwynn Tillerson
Elwynn Tillerson is the leader of the resistance fighting to overthrow the corrupt leaders of the government, the Hierophants.
Elwynn himself once bought into the rhetoric and charm of the Hierophants, committing most of his life thus far to working his way up the ranks of the Hierophants’ army, the Bastion. One of the finest soldiers the Bastion had ever seen, Elwynn climbed way to the top and achieved the highest military rank of Chief Praetor of the Bastion.
After witnessing the government’s corruptness firsthand, Elwynn vowed to use his position in the military to gather information on the inner workings of the Hierophants. Eventually, Elwynn realized this was too big for him to handle by himself. He told his wife and tried to convince her to join. She refused and threatened to turn him in for treason.
Ever since, Elwynn has been on the run convincing likeminded individuals to join him in his growing resistance group. Elwynn vowed to never give up until he had righted all the wrongs of the Hierophants and he’ll let no one stand in the way of him achieving his conquest.
Garrison Blackthorne
Garrison is the son of a high ranking military/political official who was raised to follow in the footsteps of his war hero father. He was trained from a young age in military combat and tech development. Garrison was on track to be a warrior prodigy and tech savant until the pressure to succeed, placed upon him by his father, brought to light his severe depression and anxiety.
Because of this, he could not meet the demands and criteria to become a military officer. Failing to follow in his father’s footsteps, Garrison’s father turned his back on him. After being medically discharged from the officer academy, Garrison took a job at a tech manufacturer. He thought he would waste away in that factory until one fateful day…that all changed.
Allaxe Furyk
Allaxe is a bit of a hot headed know it all, but I wouldn’t mention it to her lest you face her wrath and vicious right hook. To combat her anger issues, Allaxe has become obsessed with mastering multiple forms of martial arts as a way to channel and control her aggression.
Despite her hot headed nature, Allaxe is an award winning medical doctor with expertise in chemistry, biology, anatomy, and nanotech. As a leading expert in the medical field, Allaxe had become one of the preeminent doctors in all the world before learning of the corruptness of the government that she had dedicated the majority of her life to serving.
After learning from her mentor and martial arts instructor of a growing resistance that is hellbent on combatting the corrupt government, Allaxe now serves alongside her mentor as the resistance’s physician and premier ass kicker.
Sylphia Legros
Sylphia, a military vet, once served under Elwynn Tillerson. This created a relationship of mutual respect. She serves as the voice of reason within the resistance. When she believes a wrong decision is being made, she makes sure her voice and opinion is heard. She serves as Elwynn’s right-hand and is well respected and liked throughout the resistance.
Gedeon Blackthorne
Gedeon Blackthorne, the father of our primary protagonist, Garrison Blackthorne. Gedeon and Garrison share a strained relationship that stems from Gedeon’s overbearing nature and the constant pressure he places on Garrison to live up to his lofty expectations.
Gedeon is a career military man. He began his training at a young age and committed his life to the service of the Archon, the religious and governmental leader of the country. Gedeon quickly rose to the highest ranks of the country’s army, the Bastion, through his ruthless tactics and his unwillingness to never fail a mission that was given to him.
He caught the Archon’s eye early in his career and has become his go to for missions that have no room for failure. Through his success, and his growing relationship with the Archon, Gedeon eventually rose to the top of the Bastion, achieving the highest military rank of Chief Praetor.
His relationship with Garrison, high ranking military credentials, and his closeness to the Archon are sure to place Gedeon directly in the paths of Garrison and his comrades in the growing resistance movement and their battle against the corruptness that has spread throughout the government.
